But what is it really like, day to day?
Throughout the year residents lead a varied social life, coffee mornings afternoon tea and monthly lunches with traditional events. These include the 'Strawberry Tea' with musical entertainment by the pupils from Norland Place School, this has taken place since the 1970's. The annual Summer Concert and Christmas parties have taken place since the early 20th century and we often enjoy entertainers from the Council for Music in Hospitals. Outings to the seaside, Broadstairs and Eastbourne are popular, and to other places of interest in the summer.
At home, regular Quiz and Fish 'n' Chips nights together with BBQ's when the weather allows.
There is a regular Keep Fit class, games night, silk painting session and several residents have been tutored in computing by local 6th formers as part of their community service and Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award.
